UN Security council

  • UN Security Council Resolution No. 2712 of 15 November 2023 requires, among other things, compliance with international law, especially with regard to the protection of civilians, especially children. It further calls for the unconditional release of hostages and for humanitarian pauses in the fighting and the creation of corridors to facilitate access to humanitarian aid and essential goods and services. It also highlights the need to protect critical infrastructure and humanitarian and medical workers, including their vehicles and equipment.
  • UN Security Council Resolution No. 2720 of 22 December 2023 calls, among other things, for the unconditional release of all hostages, an increase in the supply of humanitarian aid – food, fuel, medical supplies and emergency shelter – in the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, and calls for the use of a larger amount border crossings to Gaza (specifically Kerem Shalom). It also calls for the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers, including the UN and its specialized agencies.
  • UN Security Council Resolution No. 2727 of 25 March 2024 demanding an immediate ceasefire during the month of Ramadan, the unconditional release of all hostages and the provision of health care and other needs for detainees. It further emphasizes the urgent need to expand the flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and demands the removal of all barriers preventing the delivery of humanitarian aid on a wide scale.
  • UN Security Council Resolution No. 2735 of 10 June 2024 calling on Israel and Hamas to accept a three-phase ceasefire agreement. (more information)
